This single family home in Saginaw Texas had the original, builder-grade shingle that had reached its lifespan. We have previously done some small repairs for the homeowner and she reached out to us when it was time to replace her roof. This is one of the rare times in North Texas that insurance was not helping pay for the roof. We were still able to upgrade her shingle to an architectural shingle that will last longer than the previous shingle, looks great, and will withstand the strong Texas wind.
There was one area that needed special attention on this roof. On the back side of the house there was a porch added on after the original construction. When the addition was installed the decking was not brought to meet the original decking. This caused a gap and the roofing material had sunk into the gap creating a pond instead of a pitch transition. We installed more decking to form a tighter transition supporting the shingles and allowing water to flow off of the roof; not pond. This is the type of expertise that made this homeowner glad she had Experienced the Lighthouse Difference!!
