We were initially contacted for this project due to a home inspection report finding some areas on the roof that needed to be addressed. Our client was the seller of the property and the buyer had purchased the inspection report. When we examined the roof, we found an area that swooped down near one of the corners of the house. Upon further inspection from the ground, we initially thought that the decking had not been fastened and, over time, had slid down carrying the shingles and underlayment with it. However, once we dug into the roof, we discovered that the previous installers had not replaced decking in this area but had taken a partial piece of decking and tried to level out this area. That piece of decking was not fastened to the area and had slid down over time. We re-fastened the decking and reapplied the shingles in this area. Before this was acting as a "pond" on the roof where it was swooping. Now the water will flow correctly off of the roof at that corner.
